Welcome to Thorpe Lea Nursery
At Thorpe Lea Nursery, we provide a happy and safe environment for your child to play and learn. We take great care in providing high standards of childcare and education for children aged 3 - 4 years old. Thorpe Lea Nursery is housed on-site at Thorpe Lea Primary School and was created to accommodate the perspectives of the children and capitalise on their learning opportunities. There are large facilities for both indoor and outdoor play. As our Nursery is maintained, we are lucky enough to have a fully qualified, full-time Nursery teacher who plans for and leads our three and four-year-olds with an approach to learning which encourages children to reach their full potential.
Our Nursery has an extensive amount of space, both inside and out, both of which reflect and promote all areas of learning outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage. We have several outside areas, one of which is a large, stimulating learning environment which we share with the school's Reception Class. This encourages younger children to learn from those who are older and also allows children who will move up to the Reception class to have a smoother transition to school. This combined Early Years 'Unit' was recently graded as 'Good' by Ofsted in 2014, stating in their report that 'The early years is well led and managed. Children settle quickly and make good progress'.
