In the past, we have been lucky to host author visits at Thorpe Lea Primary School  (please see the details below on famous children's author Polly Ho Yen). Due to the current pandemic, we have not been able to arrange a visit this year; however, we are looking into alternative classroom based activities to promote a true love of reading!

Polly Ho Yen 

Children's author and mastermind behind the fabulous 'Boy in the Tower' - one of the entertaining and enthralling books our pupils have ever studied in Year 6- Polly Ho Yen granted us the pleasure of her company last year. 

Despite coming an awful long way across the country, Polly arrived bright and early to meet all of the children. She spent the entire day delivering inspiring and creative writing workshops with our pupils in Year 4, 5 and 6 but made the time to take a school tour and meet all of our children and staff. This visit was a huge hit with both staff and children alike, and we look forward to booking something similar in the future.
